I've finally decided to make a new account. I have several reasons why I want to leave this account and in no particular order.

1. I feel that I'm no longer living up to my username. When I chose this username I was into Star Trek:TNG and Data was my favorite character. Data is still my favorite character from the series and I still like Star Trek: TOS-DS9 but my artwork has strayed away from Star Trek and has been more towards my OCs and original works like Project Droid and I'm currently working on two other fictional stories (A fantasy genre story and a Christian fiction story). I don't want people relating me to just one fandom because I have other fandoms such as Tim Burton films, Disney, and Sailor Moon just to name a few out of so many that I would like to give attention too.

2. My old artwork is awful! As I look back at my gallery my art style and art medium has improved compared to back then when I started. During that time I was trying to explore my drawing style by experimenting art styles of some of my favorite artists like Tim Burton and Disney as well as drawing in manga/anime style. Now that I've found my own style of drawing I would like to take this change to my new account. Don't get me wrong I still need more improvement on art techniques such as shading, texture, and body anatomy. Now as I look at my old artwork I just think it looks horrible especially the coloring.

3. I want to explore more on Christianity. Lately, I've been reading books on Christian thought and spiritualism as well as viewing other DA accounts on here that promote Christian art and thought. It's inspired me to do the same thing but I would feel more comfortable doing this on a new account than on this account because I have some watchers on here who don't share these viewpoints and in no way would I want to give them the wrong impression that I'm shoving or forcing my beliefs on them. I understand that talking about religion is considered a touchy subject and some people feel uncomfortable reading, viewing, or talking about it. However, my purpose for doing so is to relate with other Christians on this site as well reaching out to non-Christians who are curious and want to learn about it and to encourage conversation on such matters. On my new account I plan to do a weekly or monthly Bible reflection on a verse or particular topic as well as artwork.

Here are some examples from friends and inspirational people I watch on how I would approach Christianity:

Anyways, if you want to watch my new account to keep up with what I'll be working on then comment on this journal and I'll note you my new account. I'm doing this to see who really wants to keep up with my work. Also, it's just a way for me to have a fresh start again.

However, I won't delete this account for those who appreciate my old work and for art trades and gifts I've done for others in the past. This will currently be a non-active account.

Thanks!

Triple Tagged!

13 min read

I got tagged by :iconklonvon: for this one =D

Rules

1. write the rules.
2. write 13 things about yourself.
3. answer 13 questions made by the person who tagged you, and make your own 13 questions.
4. tag 13 deviants (only 13!)
5. make sure they know that they are tagged.
6. don't say ''you're tagged if you read this".
7. it is forbidden not to tag anyone.
8. tag backs are allowed.
9. if you don't make this tag in a week, you need to obey a wish of the person who tags you.

Before I proceed with this tag let me clear up something. I won’t be tagging 13 people nor will I expect the people I tag to do anything if they don’t do this tag. I understand we all have busy lives outside the internet and it’s ridiculous to impose such a rule.

Ok I’m glad I got that off my chest Relieved  Anyways, I’ve been inspired by Jordan Taylor’s Youtube video 30 Weird Things About Me so I’ll mix some weird quirks about myself with some normal stuff.

    1. I like classic horror films

    2. I’m a white meat vegetarian. I rarely eat red meat and try to avoid it as much as possible because it’s unhealthy.

    3. I suffer a bit with social anxiety Scared .

    4. I think melted cheese looks gross.

    5. When I’m trying to understand something like a logical reasoning problem I try to explain my understanding of it as if I’m talking to someone. Though I only do this alone in my bedroom and when I’m in public like at a library I try to whisper it to myself

    6. I don’t like public water fountains. Ever since I was in middle school I got sick from drinking from a water fountain and ever since then I avoid them like the plague.

    7. I enjoy retro tv shows and I'm not up to date about modern tv shows

    8. If there’s a song I really like I tend to play the song on repeat until I get it out of my head.

    9. I’ve been confused for a teenager in real life.

    10. I tend to smile a lot Chitanda Smile Icon .

    11. My favorite drink is tea Llama Emoji-09 (Drinking Tea) [V1] .

    12. I like to experiment with food.

    13. I’m shy and introverted

Questions

1. Do you prefer warm weather or cold weather?

I like warm weather but I don’t mind cool windy weather either just as long as we’re not talking about the extremes.

2. Who is an artist, songwriter, author, or any other creative person that you find inspiring?

Tim Burton, Jim Henson, and Walt Disney.

3. Do you have any pets or livestock? If so, what are they? If not, is there any kind of animal you’d like to keep?

I have none at the moment but if I were to have a pet I would like a Siberian husky or a skunk once they become legal in my state someday in the future.

4. What is one of your favorite fictional creatures?

I know this sounds like a cliché answer but I like vampires. Other than that I like leprechauns, chupacabras, unicorns, mermaids, ghosts, and other Latin American folklore monsters

5. Is there any character or story concept that you love so much you wish you came up with it yourself?

I wished I would have came up with the concept of vampires using animal blood as a substitute and the idea of vampires not drinking human blood because humans have unhealthy diets (I think this one came from a Simpson’s parody of Twilight and Hotel Transylvania :XD: ).

Though recently I just found out that Marceline (Adventure Time) has a trait (eating red dyed food instead of blood) that I invented for a short story about a misunderstood vampire who eats red stuff instead of blood back when I was in 7th grade which was long before that show even came into existence CURSE YOU!

6. Do you have any interest in making comics or animating? If so, what kind of comics or animations would you make?

I would like to do comics and animations of my Project Droid characters and my other story concepts. Though most likely I think I can see myself doing comics instead of animation mainly because I don’t have animation software.

7. Would you rather live in a single story or two story house?

Tough question! I like a single story because they’re a lot easier to maintain and get around in but I also like a two story because it looks grand on the outside especially if they are Victorian styled houses and when I reach the top floor I feel like I’m on top of the world. The con about a two story house is trying to climb up the stairs when I get old. So, I guess for practical use I like a single story but for aesthetics I like a two story Victorian house.

8. Do you prefer electric or gas stoves?

I’ve never used a gas stove so I’ll say electric stoves since I’ve been exposed to them.

9. What do you most want to learn to draw this year?

I would like to learn how to draw full bodied images, hands, feet, hair, and poses. I don’t know if this counts or not but I would also like to learn how to do shading.

10. Does anyone actually like sweatpants?

I think they’re comfortable especially around the house.

11. What was the last movie or tv show you saw?

I’ve recently been watching Vincent Price films and last week I just watched his film called, “The Last Man On Earth”.

12. Do you typically have a lot of clutter laying around, or are you the tidy sort of person?

My room is usually tidy though on occasion I might have a small unorganized pile of books and paper on my desk.

13. Similarly, night person or morning person?

I’m more of an afternoon person but I can function as a night owl too :aww:

*********

I decided to tag myself from :iconchrystalk:’s journal post just for fun

1.    What is your favorite weather-related phenomena? (Like lightning or a rainbow.)

I like the rainbow because it’s a reminder of God’s promise to humanity that he would never flood our planet again.

2.
Favorite old TV show?

Laverne and Shirley

3.    What food have you never tried?

I’ve never tried chorizo

4.
Pepsi or Coke?

I avoid drinking soda but if I had to choose I’d choose Sprite, which is technically part of Coca-Cola

5. Do you wear glasses or contacts? What for, if so? (near-sightedness, reading, crossed eyes, etc.)

I wear glasses because I’m near-sighted

6. What color are your bedroom walls?

My bedroom walls are white.

7. If you could instantly change the color of an object, what would you change?

Math and P.E

10. Worst gift you've ever received?

11. What's one habit that you've been called out on numerous times? (stop chewing your fingernails, don't roll your eyes, why do you run your fingers through your hair so much, etc.)

I really need to stop misplacing my stuff and stop scaring myself :XD: Here’s a funny story, when my folks and I arrived home we smelled something burning and for some odd reason I scared myself into thinking that I left the stove on when leaving the house so I immediately ran inside the house and into the kitchen and was relieved to know that I turned off the stove :giggle:

12. Hobby that you need to work on more?

I really need to sit down and actually write my stories.

13. What is one thing you wear at all times? (special necklace, friendship bracelet, glasses, jacket, etc.)

It's been a while since I've updated my journal on here so instead I'll post a music journal on here of some of my favorite singers (in no particular order, which I got the idea from my friend :icontharsei:, for fun :aww: IK the original post has five singers but I thought I should add two more instead :aww: Anyways enjoy !

7. Evanescence

What I like about Evanescence is that their lyrics are dark and deep in meaning. Most of the groups songs address coping with death, spiritual warfare (this is reflected more on the Fallen and Origin albums than any of their other albums), dealing and facing reality, anxiety and angst, bad romantic relationships, and social commentary on the media's expectation of people going into show biz. I have too many songs that I like to choose from so I had to shuffle on my iPod to choose the songs instead.

6. Prince

Since Prince's death I decided to explore more songs from him that I haven't heard from him before. I know most of his songs are raunchy and sensual so I listen to the one's that are less sensual. I notice that some of his songs mix Christian imagery and spirituality which tend to be overlooked by listeners. While I was listening to these songs it reminded me of my faith and that even though we live in a secular society we can still find God communicating to us even if it's not so obvious. I think the titles of these songs speak for themselves :aww:

5. Michael Jackson

My dad introduced me to Michael Jackson's music when I was little girl and I would listen to a bunch of his songs on the radio. I would even try to mimic his dance moves every time his songs were played at home. What I like about his music and songs is that they all tell a romantic story and address social issues such as like racism, poverty, pollution, social prejudices and for each of us to make a difference in the world.  It's hard for me to choose a favorite song from him so I decided to go with a spooky theme for post here. Michael Jackson's song "Thriller brings me back to Halloween nostalgia and what makes this song even more awesome is Vincent Price's spooky voice-over which reminds you of those classic horror films from the 1950's-1960's. As for the song, "Ghosts", it's from his short film called "Ghosts" and it's about a misunderstood Maestro who is outcasted from his town of Normal Valley because he has supernatural powers and he entertains the kids with it but the Mayor of the town views him as a freak of society and wants him to leave so The Maestro challenges him to a scare off and the one who gets scared gets to leave. Even though the song and film relates to Michael Jackson's personal life I also think it relates to how people in society mistreat and discriminate others because of being different. When I found out that he died I was shocked and yet saddened because he was part of my childhood but his music and legacy still lives on.

4. Aaliyah

I wasn't exposed to Aaliyah's (Princess of R&B) music in the 90's until early 2000's. There was a song that played on the radio that I thought was catchy and had a hip hop tune and I was trying to find out what the song was called and it took me until 8th grade to find out the lyrics of the song and that's when I discovered that Aaliyah sang the song, "Are You That Somebody", which happened to have been on the soundtrack of Dr.Doolittle. As I was discovering more songs from her I was sad to have found out that she had died before I even knew her music. She died in her early 20's from a plane crash in the Bahamas when she had finished filming the music video for the song, "Rock The Boat". What I like about her music is that it's down to earth, smooth, danceable, and they talk about the struggles of being in a romantic relationship. For this post I decided to choose her soundtrack songs. The second song is from the movie "Anastasia".

3. Ofra Haza

I discovered Ofra Haza when I found out years later that she sang in the movie, "The Prince of Egypt". Something about her voice is calm and angelic that I could never get tired of her songs. What I like about Ofra is that was modest and down to earth. I also like the fact that she mixed music from her culture (The East) with The West. My favorite song from her is "I'm Nin'Alu", which is from a Yeminite Rabbi, because it's about  God's essence and how his creation praises him and the best part is that one day we'll be with Him in Heaven. I had a hard time picking the second song for this post because there's a lot of songs that I like from her so I thought of a song that would reflect her vocals which I thought her cover version of Led Zepplin's s song "Kashmir".

2. Selena Quintanilla

She's best known as the Queen of Tejano music who was also bilingual (Spanish and English). As a Hispanic and a first generation Mexican-American I can relate to Selena because like her English was her first language and learned Spanish much later in her life. Even though I may not be fluent in my Spanish speaking skills I can still understand, she was one of my go to guides in learning Spanish. Again like most of the singers I mentioned here I also discovered her years after the fact she died. It's sad that her life got cut short by her fan club president, Yolanda Saldivar, at such a young age when she was in the height of her career. What I like about her songs is that they're upbeat and reflective. For this post I decided to include one English, which is from her last concert performance at the Houston Astrodome, and one Spanish song from her.

1. Josh Groban

I find Josh Groban's music to be calm and relaxing. I like the fact that he sings in multi languages (English, Spanish, Italian, French, and Portuguese). His songs are deep, inspiring, spiritual, heart-touching, and romantic. I know in the past I've posted Josh Groban music posts so I'll try to make this one short ^^; For this post I thought I would pick a multilingual song (English and Italian) and a song from his recent album "Stages".

If anyone wants to do this music journal meme then be my guest ;) I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

I usually don't write journals concerning my personal life on here and I try to avoid it as much as possible because I'm afraid that what I might say on here might be too much info for anyone to handle. The only reason I'm writing this type of journal is because I'm curious if I'm not the only one who has ever thought of the topic that I am about to present in this journal and I wonder how you would go about it. I apologize if this journal is too long read ^^;

Lately, I've been reading an autobiography of one of my favorite inspirational figures and entertainers, Jim Henson, and what caught my attention in his autobiography was when he started thinking about wanting to be able to do all that he wanted but was afraid that he might not be able to do so because of the limited time we are given to live on Earth and what made him think of this was when his older brother, Paul, died in a car accident in his early 20's when Jim was 19 yrs old. In his earlier works such as the song, "Tick Tock Sick" and the short film "Time Piece" he incorporated the idea of an every day man wanting to escape from time.

This started to get to me a little but what made me even think more about the topic was two weeks ago when I heard that the late singer, Prince, died at age 57 in the elevator of his home. I usually don't care about celebrities and their deaths except if it's one that I'm familiar with and have impacted my life in someway. What made Prince's death grab my attention was that he died young and because I recognized a few songs from him that I enjoyed listening too. From recent reports of his health he went to the hospital and was suffering from flu-like symptoms but when he left the hospital he looked alright. When I heard about his death I was completely shocked because in past interviews and performances he looked so hip and alive that he hadn't aged a day since the 1980's. He didn't show any signs of declining health but it's possible that he could have been suffering from a health condition but he just kept it low profile from the public. For now I can't claim anything since I don't know what the results of his autopsy were or what his private life was besides that he  had hip injury and refused to get it operated because he was a Jehovah's Witness  After hearing the news I was listening to four of my favorite Prince songs and two out of those four songs which are "Let's Go Crazy" and "1999", I noticed that the common theme in his songs is, "Live your life and do what you want before you die." Misc Icon - 003 Rose Purple :iconprinceplz: May he rest in peace Misc Icon - 003 Rose Purple

Now what does Jim Henson and Prince have anything to do with me? As I have been reflecting on my life I feel that my life is at a pause. While everyone around me already graduated from university and have a job while being able to do leisurely activities, I'm at a point where I'm still trying to get my life together. After graduating from the university last May I thought I would be able to get a job as a social worker but guess what I don't have experience nor do I have a driver's license with a clean 3 yr driving record =( So I decided to go pursue my childhood dream, which was being a lawyer, that I once left behind because back then I got easily discouraged about the law school requirements and I just didn't want to take anymore standardized tests since I'm usually not good at these type of tests and the LSAT score is 65% of what law schools look at out of the whole application process. After looking at my alternatives I thought I should give law school a shot so throughout the summer I self-studied for the LSAT and when I took it on December I flunked it. Back then I didn't realize that I didn't understood the material to well until I took the exam. I think the reason was because I didn't have enough problems to practice with from the PowerScore LSAT prep books that I ordered in the summer and I had bad study habits .

So now I'm currently taking a three month LSAT prep course that's suppose to help me for the June 2016 LSAT and as I've been taking diagnostic tests my teacher has talked to me about my progress and told me that I might have to change my test date for the LSAT on September 2016 if my score doesn't improve to my desired score which is a 160. In the past diagnostics I would score around 129-132 which is bad mainly because of struggling to finish the exam on time that I would leave some answers blank. Right now I feel frustrated about this because I feel that this test is a huge hindrance in my life from trying to build my resume, apply to law school on time, and enjoy leisurely activities. I even had to put my artwork and my sci-fi story "Project Droid: The Emancipation of Andre Lombardi" on hold as a result of this as well as a current Christian fiction story I had in mind since Easter (which I will discuss later in another journal). Also, I rarely ever log on here as much as I used to and if I ever do I only reply and fav artwork here and there. At this rate I feel like it'll take an eternity to get where I want to be. It all boils down to being limited on time on wanting to do what I want GIF My Little Pony - Idk what to call this... .

There's so much that I want to do with my life in this God given time that I'm given but I fear that what if I die before reaching where I want to be in my life. I know I'm too young to be thinking about death but life isn't guaranteed for anyone no matter how old one is and whether or not a person takes really good care of themselves. As my father told me in the past that, "When one walks out the door of their home one may never know if he/she will ever come back home alive." In the past there have been instances in my life where I have encountered near death experiences such as almost being in a car accident, almost getting shot at where I used to live, and almost being ran over by a car while crossing the street through the traffic light when the pedestrian light is green. Not only that but I fear that one of these days what if I develop a health condition during this trial that will prevent me from pursuing my dreams or get shot at in class like those college shootings you here in the news  Kaori Scared Icon .

Before I ever leave this world I would want to die knowing that I made a positive impact in someone's life through my occupation, artwork, stories, and presenceSailor Mars . I want to be able to leave my mark in this world before going away. In the past I used to take my life and faith for granted. I deeply regret the mistakes that I've done in my life but now I have come to fully appreciate the life God has given me and am willing to grow in my faith and as a person.

If you believe in prayer I ask that you pray for me to help me get through this hardship Asuna Praying Icon Misc Icon - 002 Rose Pink
